Our goal is always to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children through early intervention, vigilant and rigorous safeguarding procedures and through effective and efficient record keeping. Safeguarding At Al Karamah we are committed to providing a safe and secure environment not only for our pupils but also our staff, visitors and families. Our goal is always to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children through early intervention, vigilant and rigorous safeguarding procedures and through effective and efficient record keeping. To us, safeguarding means; Ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care. Preventing harm to children’s health and development. Protecting children from abuse and maltreatment. Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes. Adults are protected from abuse or neglect or the risk of it Safer recruitment All our staff are carefully employed with our children’s safety at heart. All staff submit an appropriate police check. Our staff involved in the recruitment process have completed Safer Recruitment training and will ask specific questions related to child protection during the interview. At Al Karamah we also provide mandatory safeguarding training for all our staff, including our support staff (which might be translated to ensure full understanding). Finally, our robust safeguarding policies make it mandatory to report any concern regarding a staff member to our Designated Safeguarding Team.

 

Our Designated Safeguarding Team Our Designated safeguarding leads (DSL) are Ms Michelle Farr, Ms Adele Hattingh and Ms Ruth Davies. The DSL takes lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection (this includes online safety) and is available to provide advice and support to other staff on child welfare and child protection matters.
