Safer Internet Day 2026: Using AI Safely at Al Karamah

To mark Safer Internet Day 2026, students at Al Karamah took part in learning activities focused on the safe and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Through carefully structured, visual, and discussion-based sessions, students explored what AI is, how it can be helpful, and why it is important to use AI tools safely and appropriately. Key messages included understanding that AI is a tool to support learning, not replace thinking, and that information created by AI should always be checked and used with care.

Students also learned about the importance of privacy and safety when using AI, including not sharing personal information, asking an adult before using new tools, and understanding that not everything generated by AI is always correct or suitable.

The activities were adapted to meet the needs of all learners, using clear visuals, guided questioning, and adult support to help students recognise safe choices and build confidence when using digital technology.

Safer Internet Day 2026 reinforced our ongoing commitment to digital wellbeing, ensuring that students develop the skills they need to engage with technology — including AI — in a safe, responsible, and supported way.
