Introduction
Al Karamah Training Institute have connected with different industry partners to provide external work experiences, internships, and employment for our students. When forming partnerships, we consider our students interests, motivations, and locality. All partnerships are agreed through a memorandum of understanding (MOU). Within this MOU a schedule details how the partnership will work to support our students. When AKTI forms a partnership there is an exchange of expertise and resources. AKTI provide expertise in education, autism and procedures relating to the health and safety of the students, whilst the partner provides expertise and training in their industry area and work experience opportunities for the students. Prior to work experience taking place, the AKTI team provide autism training to support awareness of autism but also an understanding of the individual students they will be working with.
The Butterfly
Located in Abu Dhabi, The Butterfly acts as a one stop shop, the first point of referral, for People of Determination, families and care givers, that are seeking advice, representation and support on how to overcome the challenges they face. The Butterfly is an endorsed social enterprise by Ma’an, the authority of social contribution, and an enable of the Abu Dhabi Disability strategy 2020-2024 with the Department of Community Development, Abu Dhabi.
The Butterfly informs, support, enable and empower People of Determination in making informed choices, accessing services, and participating effectively in the decision-making process on all issues that affect their lives. The Butterfly is an Advocacy Agency, a guidance centred on the client’s needs.
