Early Years classes follow the UK Early Years curriculum. Children are organised in mixed gender classes, with a high level of adult support.
Teachers plan lessons over a half term linked to a theme, for example “People Who Help Us” and “Out of Space”. Half termly curriculum maps and newsletters are provided to parents. In these classes, children enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum covering the following areas: physical development, personal, emotional and social development, understanding of the world, expressive arts and design, speaking and listening, maths, reading, Arabic, Islamic and social studies.
The children learn through play and hands on practical activities with teachers planning specific input for maths and phonics. Continuous provision enables children to learn skills, challenge their thinking and help them to embed concepts. It also provides the context for a variety of learning conversations between children and adults with rich opportunities for modelling and language development.
