Lucy Wood
Education Development Director, Priory Aspris
With over 30 years of experience, Lucy started as a teacher working in schools in the South of England and managed SEN and autism groups at Highbury College, Portsmouth prior to moving on to DHT at Hampshire Autistic Society in 2002. Lucy then took an MSc at Southampton University with a thesis on ASD and reading abilities followed by completion of the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), moving on to take her first headship with Aspris Children's Services in 2008. Since then Lucy has overseen three ASC schools for Priory as a Principal moving to Abu Dhabi in 2018 as the Founding Principal for Al Karamah School.
Lucy developed her specialism taking secondments in various special schools and then went to work for Hampshire Autistic Society for five years as a Deputy Head and setting up their Post-16 facility, a small college for young people with Asperger syndrome.
Next followed a Headship at Tadley Court (ne Horizon) School in Basingstoke before joining Priory Lodge School first as an Acting Head and then as School Principal.
